Lyric Machine

A linguistic device for recombining fragments of thought into new poetic configurations

About

What is Lyric Machine?

The Lyric Machine is a compact linguistic reconfiguration device designed for recombining fragments of thought into new poetic configurations. Load your input manually, or fetch live RSS headlines from global news sources. Once your text is displayed in the chamber, press Mix! — the machine will instantly process the content, slicing, shuffling, and recombining phrases through its internal processing circuit.

Using the classic Fisher-Yates shuffle algorithm, Lyric Machine subjects language to creative distortion and mutation, transforming mundane headlines into unexpected poetry. Within seconds, your freshly mixed output is copied to memory, ready for reuse, reinterpretation, or quiet astonishment.

Inspired by David Bowie's Verbasizer — an experimental cut-up device created by Bowie, Brian Eno, and Ty Roberts to break language into beautiful accidents.

Note: Lyric Machine is independently developed software inspired by the concept of the Verbasizer. This application is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to David Bowie, his estate, Brian Eno, or Ty Roberts.

⚠️ Warning: May cause recursive inspiration.
